The Airborne Rescue Squadron (EAS), better known as PARA-SAR ('PARA' for paratroopers, 'SAR' for English Search and Rescue,) is a paratrooper squadron for Special Operations and Search and Rescue of Brazilian air force,
SAR is a doctrine used worldwide by the Armed Forces and several special units. Brazil has seven SAR teams, which integrate the FAB helitransported units, Manaus (AM), Recife (PE), Pirassununga (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Santa Maria (RS), Natal (RN) and Belém ( PA), all indoctrinated by PARA-SAR.
The purpose of PARA-SAR is to instruct Brazilian Air Force rescue teams and carry out Special Operations and Search and Rescue missions.
