Army Religious Assistance.

Historical Background
Brazilian troops almost always relied on religious assistance. In the Empire, the Ecclesiastical Office of the Army functioned, which had its services paralyzed for decades with the advent of the Republic. It was to be reestablished, however, when, under the effects of World War II, the country organized the Brazilian Expeditionary Force to fight in Europe.

Structure
The Religious Assistance Service (SAREx) is made up of ministers of the Catholic and Evangelical religions. Priests and pastors are part of the Military Chaplain Board, after an adaptation internship started at the Army Complementary Training School (EsFCEx) and concluded in several military organizations. Starting their career as 2nd lieutenant, they can even reach the rank of colonel.
